2/11/2015 Male Tanksters Win Seven Events and Set Three School Records

The Cougars Boys won seven of the twelve events at the Putnam County Championship, but did not have the depth to defeat eventual champion Greencastle. Leading the way was Nick Young with wins and new school records in the 200 and 500 Freestyle, and Jonah Creamean with wins in the 200 IM , and a win and new school record in the 100 Fly. Also picking up individual wins were Joe Davis in the 100 Breast, and Kavyn Timm in 1 Meter Diving. Combining to win the the 200 Medley Relay was Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Jonah Creamean, and Bailey Allen. The Cougars recorded over 90% lifetime best swims on the night.

The Cougars are in action next week at the Plainfield Sectional.

1/22/2015 Another Record Breaking Night For The Cougars

The Cougar Swim and Dive Team had a successful night lead by Nick Young's record breaking effort in the 500 Free.The Cougars have now broken four school records so far this year. The Cougars squared off with Cascade and Covenant Christian, with the boys beating Cascade 183-96, and downing Covenant Christian 183-33. The girls were victorious against Covenant Christian 179-19, while falling to Cascade 113-179. The girls season record stands at 8-6, while the boys are 11-2.

Picking up wins for the girls was Abby.Spencer in the 200 and 500Free. Picking up wins for the boys was Nick Young in the 200 and 500Free, Joe Davis in the 200IM and 100Breast, Bailey Allen in the 50 and 100Free, Cameron McPherson in Divng,, and Jonah Creamean in the 100Fly. Combiing to sweep the relays for the boys was Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Bailey Allen, Jonah Creamean, Andy Rogers, Markus Timm, and Trevor Sheldon.

1/10/2015 Cougar Swimmers Have Record breaking Conference Meet

Congratulations to the Cougar swimmers for an outstanding performance at the WCC Championships over the weekend.The boys were second, and the girls fourth. The Cougars brought home five individual championships, and a relay championship, while breaking three school records. Winning individual championships were Abby Spencer in the 500Free, Nick Young in the 500Free, Kavyn Timm in Diving, Jonah Creamean in the 200IM and Joe Davis in the 100Breast. Combining to win the Medley Relay were Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Jonah Creamean and Bailey Allen. New School Records were set by Abby Spencer in the 500 Free, Nick Young in the 200 Free, and Jonah Creamean in the 100 Fly. An amazing seventy-two of the seventy-six swims were life time best performances. WOW!

12/15/2014 Tanksters Continue Their Winning Ways

The Cougar Swim and Dive Teams continued their winning ways with dominant performances against the West Vigo Vikings on Monday night. The girls won the night 98-64 and the boys outdistanced the Vikings 117-67. The team records stand at 7-2 for the girls and 8-0 for the boys.

Picking up individual wins for the girls were Sam Frieje in the 200 Free, Abby Spencer in the 200 IM and 500 Free. Elizabeth Alford in the 100 Free, and Rebecca Muse in the 100 Breast. Winning for the boys was Nick Young in the 200 and 500 Free, Joe Davis in the 200 IM and 100 Breast, Bailey Allen in the 50 and 100 Free, and Jonah Creamean in the 100 Fly.Spencer, L. Frieje, S. Frieje, Dill, Alford, Gray, Sims, and Muse combined to win the 200 Medley Relay, and the 200 Free Relay. Combining to win the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays for the boys were Rogers, Davis, Creamean, Allen, and Young.

The Cougar Swim and Dive Teams continued their winning ways last week. On Tuesday night both squads defeated Owen Valley with the girls winning 114-38, and the boys winning 144-14. On Saturday the Boys dominated the Clinton Central Invitational by winning ten of twelve events along with setting two Invitational records on their way to the championship.. The girls fought hard and came home with a 4th place finish on the day. The boys dual meet record stands at 7-0 while the girls are 6-2

Individual winners on the girls side versus Owen Valley were Lauren Frieje in the 200 Free and 100 Back, Krissy Dill in the 200 IM, Elizabeth Alford in the 50 and 100 Free, Desirae Poynter in Diving, and Abby Spencer in the 100 Fly and 500 Free. Spencer, Gray, Muse, Frieje, Frieje, Dill and Alford combined to sweep the relays. On the boys side Individual winners were Markus Timm in the 200 Free, Joe Davis in the 200 IM, and 100 Fly, Bailey Allen in the 50 Free, Kavyn Timm in Diving, Andy Rogers in the 100 Free and 100 back, Nick Youg in the 500 Free and Jonah Creamean in the 100 breast.Combining to sweep the relays for the boys were Davis, Young, Creamean,Allen, Rogers, Timm, and Sheldon.

On Saturday the boys brought home the trophy in convincing fashion by winning ten of twelve events, along with Invitational Records being set by Kavyn Timm in Diving, and Nick Young in the 200 Free. The girls were lead to a 4th place finish by Freshman Abby Spencer with a second place finish in the 200 Free. Leading the boys team with individual victories were Nick Young in the 200 and 500 Free, Jonah Creamean in the 200 IM and 100 Fly, Bailey Allen in the 50 and 100 Free, Kavyn Timm in diving, and Joe Davis in the 100 Breast. Combining to win the 200 Free Relay, and 200 Medley Relayy were Rogers, Davis, Creamean, Allen,and Young.

The Cougars are in action on Monday Night at West Vigo, and Thursday night at Greencastle.

The Cougar Swim and Dive Teams continued their winning ways over the weekend with the boys defeating Edgewood 156-121, and downing South Vermillion 156-82. The girls defeated Edgewood 97-93 and fell to a strong South vermillion squad 97-170. The girls record stands at 5-2, and the boys are 6-0.

Picking up individual wins on the night were Abby Spencer in the 200 Free, Bailey Allen in the 50 and 100 Free, Kavyn Timm in 1Meter Diving, Jonah Creamean in the 100 Fly, and Nick Young in the 500 Free. Combining to win the 400 and 200 Free Realys for the boys were Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Jonah Creamean, Bailey Allen, and Nick young.

The Cougars are in action at home tonight against Owen Valley, with a 6:00PM start time. If you can, come out and support the kids.

12/2/2014 Tanksters Keep Rolling

The Cougar Swim and Dive teams faced off with South Montgomery and North Vermillion on Tuesday, with the cougars sweeping both boys and girls meets.On the girls side the cougars defeated Southmont 151-111, while topping North Vermillion 151-50. The boys outdistanced Southmont 174-111, and defeated North vermillion 174-51. The season records stand at 4-1 for the Lady Cougars, and 4-0 for the boys.

Picking up Individual wins for the girls were Abby Spencer in the 200 Free and 100 Back, Savannah Couch in Diving, Elizabeth Alford in the 100 Free, and Krissy Dill in the 500 Free. Combining to win the 400 Free Relay were Elizabeth Alford, Sam Freije, Krissy Dill, and Abby Spencer.

Picking up individual wins for the boys were Nick Young in the 200 and 500 Free, Bailey Allen in the 50 and 100 Free, Joe Davis in the 200 IM and 100 breast, and Jonah Creamean in the 100 Fly.
Combining to sweep the relays were Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Jonah Creamean, Bailey Allen, Markus Timm, Trevor Shelson, and Nick Young.

The Cougars are in action at home this Saturday at 11:00AM against Edgewood and South Vermillion.

11/24/2014 Tanksters Continue Their Winning Ways

The Cougar Swim and Dive Teams had a successful night versus Tri-West and South Putnam Monday. The boys team swept the night defeating Tri-West 149-119, while beating South Putnam 149-79. The girls garnered a split, beating South Putnam 109-104, while coming up short against Tri-West 109-133. Both Tri-West and South Putnam easily handled the Cougar girls last year, so Monday nights results were a good indicator of the upward trajectory of the Lady Cougars. The boys team, while in rebuilding mode picked up were they left off last year. The boys have only lost two dual meets the last two seasons. The girls stand at 2-1 for the season, while the boys are 2-0.

Leading the way for ladies was Abby Spencer with individual wins in the 200IM, and 500 Free.Also picking up an Individual win for the girls was Krissy Dill in the 100 Breast. The relay team of Hannah Gray, Lauren Freije, Krissy Dill, and Abby Spencer combined to win the 200 Medlay Relay.

Picking up wins for the boys was Nick Young in the 200 and 500 Free, Baily Allen in the 100 Free, Chase Ruble in 1Meter Diving, and Jonah Creamean in the 100Fly. Combining to win the 200 Free Relay was the team of Bailey Allen, Joe Davis, Jonah Creamean, and Nick Young.

The Cougars are in action again on October 2nd against South Montgomery and North Vermilion.

The lady Cougar swimmers opened their season with a 110-50 win over Covenant Christian. The win was a team effort with all swimmers scoring points to help secure the win. Leading the way with two individual wins was Abby Spencer. Also picking up individual wins were Lauren Freije, Savannah Couch, Elizabeth Alford, Hannah Gray,and Krissy Dill. Combining to sweep all three relays were Abby Spencer, Lauren Freije, Krissy Dill, Elizabeth Alford, Rebecca Muse,and Samantha Freije.

If you see the girls please take time to congratulate them on their efforts.On Monday, both the boys and girls swim at home against Tri-West and South Putnam. The meet gets underway at 6:00PM. If you get a chance, come out and support the kids.
