NP Crest

Parents/Guardians/Students:

We hope you and your family have had an enjoyable holiday break.  Unfortunately we come to you today with disheartening news.  Due to the rise of Putnam County’s Covid-19 positivity rate, our county is now referred to as a Red County.  More information regarding Covid-19, ISDH guidance, and county metrics can be found at coronavirus.in.gov.  Dr. Singer, Superintendent of Schools, made the following announcement this morning regarding attendance at the beginning of the second semester.  The High School and Middle School will utilize the At Home Learning model for at least the first two weeks of the semester.  The corporation’s elementary schools will remain fully open, but will be monitored closely in the event a change is necessary.

Below is a schedule for our synchronous learning for the next two weeks. Synchronous learning means that these classes will be conducted live.   Teachers and students are expected to be in attendance together during these times.  While the student may not be in a Google Meet through the entire hour, they should be engaged in content for this class for much of the time. They also will have the remainder of the hour to meet w/ students during that class period. GoogleMeet information will be sent directly to your student via Google Classroom.

Daily attendance is expected and will be taken daily by teachers during Live Google Meet sessions.  If your student does not have consistent internet access, parents must contact your teacher directly for alternative materials that can be picked up from the high school office during regular business hours (8:00am-4:00pm), or make arrangements for pick up of these materials with administration.  Our building is also available and arrangements can be made for your student to spend time in our building working on coursework.
