Kate Skirvin

Kate Skirvin, FFA Teacher at North Putnam High School, was one of the recipients of the Excellence in Teaching Award for April.

Kate graduated from Purdue University and Walden University.  She has taught at North Putnam for 19 years.  She is the longest tenured Agriculture Educator at NPHS and she brings a tremendous amount of experience and leadership to the school and organization.  She is very knowledgeable and has a good understanding for how best to present material in the classroom that helps students not only learn, but also enjoy learning.  Her leadership within the FFA Chapter has helped our students earn statewide recognition.  She has also been named the 2022 Outstanding Teacher for District 7 Agriculture Educators.  She will now compete among other district winners for the honor of being named the state Outstanding Teacher of the Year.  She enjoys taking care of llamas and sheep, being her daughter’s soccer mom, snuggling with her dog, binge watching “The Office” with her husband, and taking a flight with her favorite pilot (her husband) to go eat at the Beef House.  Congratulations to Kate Skirvin.  We are very proud of her.
